Indecisive and ADD

Best describes my Kathmandu cardigan and other things. In my previous post I happily wrote about modifying Jean Frost's JaspeRed pattern by incorporating cables and how I'm going to do both sleeves at the same time to avoid the second sleeve syndrome. Well all of that came to a mind blowing halt when I asked my dd to try it on before doing the sleeves. Here goes the scenario....

DD: Ma! I want a vest... I don't want sleeves.

Me: what do you mean you don't want sleeves... its suppose to be a cardigan... gurl try this darn thing on and let me see whats going on here.
DD: Ooooh I can wear it like this....

Me: Its not finished!!! I have 6 ball of this yarn left what in the dickens are you talking about!

DD: Ma! you know what... I want the front closed up.

Me: *eyes bulging* Whatttttttttt!

DD: Yeah - close it up in the front and then let me try it on again.

Me: *eyes rolling* and off I go @ 7:00 a.m. to close up the front and mumbling why do I put myself through this - she tells me I stopped making clothes for her and now when I give in it becomes a big INDECISION..... sheesh.

DD: Did you close it up yet.... let me see it before you finish closing it up

Me: Gurl..... you looking for trouble and as of 7:48 a.m. this is where we left off

In my PJs, I schlepped outside with camera and mannequin in hands in 38 degree friggin' weather to take pictures as she simultaneously leaves for work.... go figure.

I decided to just leave it alone for now and directed my attention to finishing a baby blanket and scouring through my crochet mags for a baby cardigan and baby brogues.

Just as quickly my eyes drifted over to my inspiration board and I thought of all the things I want to sew and then my attention darted to the blue cardigan squashed into a bag waiting for buttons, precariously perched atop the sewing machine a blouse I'd purchased for $5.oo that I want to refashion into a dress, and my daughter's skirt waiting to be sewn.... what is it with me - can I be suffering from ADD...lol By 8:30 a.m.... I plopped down at my desk amongst my clutter and thought about laundry, Sunday dinner, cleaning the house, washing my hair and ironing my clothes for tomorrow.... Geezous.... I'm losing it....loll

I'M BACKKKKKKKK!

Hi Yall, how is everyone doing...? I got my google reader up and slogging through my 682 post...LOL

Whew!!! it was totally busy around my part of town for the last 2 weeks. I was designated a wedding coordinator, with the location of the wedding being where......... my home!! Only a sister could ask for something of that magnitude...lol. I'd actually started hyperventilating because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get any knitting/crocheting/sewing done.....lol. As the time neared I realized I had to put my hook and needles down and get the wedding arrangements popping and cracking. I've been coined the Wedding Coordinator from the Wicked West!!!.....LOL. The wedding was on November 10th, this past Saturday and the temperature was a high of 47 dayummm degrees... which required me to constantly harass the Tent Vendor about sufficient heating and making sure everything was delivered by Friday...Geezous... it was crazy. Well the wedding was beautiful and everyone is recovering from my wickedness...lol. It feels good to have things back to normal.

I am now resuming my usual schedule of crafting and my current projects are a knitted cabled cardigan, crochet baby blanket and a few crochet hats.

I am on a cable binge especially after my last cardigan. I'm using one of Jean Frost's pattern and modifying it for cables as I go along. Believe me it was very trying, but I managed to finish the right panel and it looks good. I'm using Kathmandu DK Grape Yarn, which is 85% merino wool, 10% silk, 5% cashmere and the yarn is scrumptiously soft. Photographing this partially completed project is hellfire - the cables don't show very well - each front panel will have 3 rows of cables and hopefully I will do a cable on each sleeve... so stay tuned for the FO ....lol

I'm almost finished with the baby blanket and should have pics soon - the blanket will be part of a set that will consist of a baby cardigan, hat and baby brogues. My Crochet Apple Caps are the rave so I'm making a few of them. Lastly, on the sewing front I'm making a skirt for my daughter and should have that done this weekend.
Ohhh! I'm so happy to be back in blogland... Missed Yall.
